Cerianthus filiformis
Purple tube anemone
| Family Cerianthidae. It is the large tube anemone that the diameter of
the spread tentacles exceeds 50cm. The color of tentacles vary, such as
purple-tipped, dark purple and yellow. It is seen on soft sediment from
the Chubu region to Kyushu. It makes sand-encrusted mucous tube and live
in. Species indigeneous to Japan. Our aquarium succeeded in the first propagation
of this species in the world in 1984. |
